She is currently studying for her Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy. She holds both a Professional Clinical Counselor license and a Marriage and Family Therapist license, both with supervisory endorsement. Laura has experience working with children and adolescents and their families via intensive home-based services as well as experiences in an outpatient mental health agency. She has a wide range of experiences at this agency, ranging from facilitating a Batterer’s Intervention Program and substance abuse groups for adults and teenagers, using The Incredible Years/Dina program to teach social skills to preschoolers, and providing services at the Huron County Jail. She has worked as a crisis counselor to assess for need for psychiatric hospitalization. Laura is a certified Level 2 Gottman-trained couples therapist and also a trained Prepare/Enrich Facilitator. She also has completed First Responder’s Counselor training. Laura enjoys working with children as young as 5 through adulthood, as well as doing couples and family work. Laura is also trained in EMDR therapy and TF-CBT to address trauma.
